Full Biography and Future Plans of Elon Musk

Elon Musk is an entrepreneur and business magnate who co-founded PayPal and Tesla Motors. He also founded SpaceX and is now working on developing the Hyperloop.

Musk was born in South Africa, and moved to Canada aged 17 to attend Queen's University. He transferred to the University of Pennsylvania two years later, where he received dual bachelor's degrees in economics and physics. He moved to California in 1995 to attend Stanford University but decided instead to pursue a business career, co-founding web software company Zip2 with his brother Kimbal. The start-up was acquired by Compaq for $307 million in 1999. In 2015, he co-founded OpenAI, a nonprofit research company that promotes friendly artificial intelligence. In 2016, he co-founded Neuralink, a neurotechnology company focused on developing brain-computer interfaces and founded The Boring Company, a tunnel construction company.

Musk has also proposed the Hyperloop, a high-speed transportation system that would send passengers through a tube at speeds of up to 700 miles per hour.

SpaceX:

The Falcon Heavy is the most powerful operational rocket in the world by a factor of two. With the ability to lift into orbit over 54 metric tons (119,000 lb) — a mass greater than a 737 jetliner loaded with passengers, crew, luggage, and fuel — Falcon Heavy can lift more than twice the payload of the next closest operational vehicle, the Delta IV Heavy, at one-third the cost. Falcon Heavy draws upon the proven heritage and reliability of Falcon 9. Its first stage comprises three Falcon 9 nine-engine cores whose 27 Merlin engines generate more than 5 million pounds of thrust at liftoff, equal to approximately eighteen 747 aircraft at full power. Only the Saturn V moon rocket, was last flown in 1973.

Tesla Motors Inc. (TSLA)

The company specializes in electric vehicle manufacturing, battery energy storage from home to grid-scale, and, through its acquisition of SolarCity, solar panel and solar roof tile manufacturing.

Tesla's mission is to accelerate the world's transition to sustainable energy.

The company was founded in 2003 by Martin Eberhard and Marc Tarpenning. The name "Tesla" comes from Nikola Tesla, an inventor and electrical engineer who developed the AC induction motor used in many of Tesla's electric cars.

In 2008, Tesla released its first car, the Roadster, which was the first highway-capable all-electric vehicle in mass production.

Online bank X.com:

Elon Musk's online bank, X.com, offers a variety of financial services including online banking, online investing, online payments, and online money transfers. X.com also offers a variety of other services such as online shopping, online bill pay, and online tax preparation.

SolarCity:

Elon Musk is the chairman of SolarCity, a solar energy services company. SolarCity is the largest provider of solar power systems in the United States. SolarCity was founded in 2006 by brothers Peter and Lyndon Rive, who are also cousins of Elon Musk. The company is headquartered in San Mateo, California.

SolarCity provides solar power systems for residential and commercial customers. The company also offers solar leasing and power purchase agreements. SolarCity has more than 13,000 employees. In 2016, SolarCity was acquired by Tesla Motors for $2.6 billion.

Zip2:

Elon Musk's first company was Zip2, a web software company, which he co-founded with his brother Kimbal in 1995. The company developed and marketed an Internet "city guide" for the newspaper publishing industry. Zip2 was acquired by Compaq for $307 million in 1999.

Neuralink:

Neuralink is a company that is developing technology to link human brains with computers. The goal of Neuralink is to create devices that can be implanted into the brain to allow people to interface with computers. The company is still in the early stages of development but has made significant progress. In 2017, Neuralink implanted a device into a monkey’s brain that allowed the monkey to control a computer with its thoughts. The company is also working on devices that could be used to treat conditions like Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s.

The potential implications of Neuralink’s technology are vast. If successful, the company could one day help people with paralysis regain control of their limbs or enable people with hearing or vision impairments to see or hear again.

The company has also said that it could one day help humans merge with artificial intelligence, a prospect that has raised concerns among some experts. Musk has said that Neuralink’s technology could one day be used to create a “symbiosis with artificial intelligence,” and that humans need to merge with A.I. to stay relevant.

“If you don’t have a neural lace in your brain by the 2030s, you’re probably going to be a house cat,” Musk said at a Neuralink event in San Francisco. Musk’s vision is to create a brain-computer interface that would allow humans to merge with artificial intelligence. The billionaire said that the technology would be able to treat brain diseases and injuries, and eventually allow humans to merge with artificial intelligence.

Future Plans Elon Musk has many plans for the future. Some of his plans include:
